New Serato Control Vinyl

Posted on 19 January, 2012

Serato are proud to announce a new line of Control Vinyl for Scratch Live DJs with all new double packs and exclusive colours.

This new line of performance vinyl features a re-mastered Serato NoiseMap Control Tone that is 6db louder than existing pressings, allowing for precise tracking, better vinyl wear and the most authentic feeling digital vinyl experience on the market.

The new Performance Series pressings are packaged as a double set and will feature a wide range of new colours. First to be released in this series are a classic black 12’’ and a purple 12’’ pressing.

edsonr 6:13 AM - 21 January, 2012
i'm wondering if a the black pair comes with a 62 and the purple comes with the 62Z?
Rob Alahn 6:19 AM - 21 January, 2012
@jkut try PayPal--no cash option/choice or retailer that I'm aware of.
@Scarface the limited edition GITDs are available exclusively at www.stokyoworld.com
@boabmatic only 1000 numbered pieces of GITDs are available--don't sleep!
@Sheak great meeting you at NAMM
@Kariba they're shipping from California
@Rhetorik they've released more each day so check back often but remember only 500 pairs
@Goatee Performance Pressings (Serato, pressing plant & Stokyo developed) not a Rane product so I doubt it.
Hope that helps. -ra

New labels are awesome, most likely won't need to mark up my vinyl anymore.
serkan 4:37 PM - 21 January, 2012
It says pairs on this site but if I click "buy now" I get redirected to stokyworold.com where the black and deep purple ones are sold in single packs for US$19.99
nik39 4:43 PM - 21 January, 2012
$19.99 sounds ok. Thats $39.98
Rob Alahn 4:56 PM - 21 January, 2012
As I understand it the collaboration between Serato, Stokyo and the pressing plant on the research and development of the new vinyl yielded additional expense in bringing the 2.5 CV to the market. But I will agree with you that the Serato Blog and Stokyo site seem to be incongruent.

Ended up ordering them a few days ago and paid the 36 dollar postage to the UK :-(
Rob Alahn 10:24 PM - 21 January, 2012
The numbered Limited Edition GITDs are worth it IMO
Kool DJ Sheak One 12:13 AM - 22 January, 2012
Ayo Rob, great to meet a fellow vinyl junkie like myself at NAMM.

If I click on there it takes me to the Stoykoworld site and there you can see:
Glow in the darks (a pair) were sold in a bundle with slipmats
the same goes for the Deep Purples!
The new black CV is being sold as a single record, at Stokyoworld.
s3kn0tr0n1c 8:36 AM - 23 January, 2012
Anybody scratched with them yet....

Are they better for small and slow movements- scribbles and vibration cuts?....

keen to find out
Music Trends 3:33 PM - 24 January, 2012
They look great can't wait to have them in our store!
BBN 3:48 AM - 25 January, 2012
When will they be available in Germany and how much will they cost?
Louder control tone seems to be a good thing, but we all should be able to buy these new records everywhere around the globe.
whoa-dee 9:38 PM - 28 January, 2012
Has anybody who ordered the GID's have them arrive yet(or even had the shipping started)? I ordered mine over a week ago, and the Stokyo.com website says my order is still processing.
Dj Rah EasTwooD 9:55 PM - 28 January, 2012

What dfference do you notice performance wise?
mrmun 8:46 AM - 11 February, 2012
I got the glow in the dark ones - they are awesome! however they don't actually glow in the dark? not sure what I'm doing wrong..

Do they need to sit under some light first purhaps to charge up like other glow in the dark stuff? Have you tried them under blacklite?
mrmun 7:37 PM - 12 February, 2012
Yeah, turns out I'm slightly retarded - a quick flash of a light/torch on the vinyl and they retain the glow for a few seconds (the brighter the light, the better it turns out). I didn't want to leave them out in direct sunlight to test if that was how to hold the "glow" (this is why I needed new Serato plates in the first place!
snob dee-jays 4:38 PM - 18 February, 2012
are juno.co.uk or hhv.de getting these stocked?

How should we know it?
Ask them and post the answer here, or keep checking these websites.
2Seven 2:11 PM - 19 February, 2012
The performance series, I am led to believe, will have extensive distribution. As such, I think it's safe to assume that they will.
Rob Alahn 4:40 PM - 19 February, 2012
Too much invested from a business perspective to avoid worldwide distribution on these exciting new products. After the limited run the vinyl will be made available to the masses IMO.
BennyDigital 8:07 PM - 22 April, 2012
Wish they'd hurry!
Sporadik Styles 3:11 PM - 11 May, 2012
I wish they'd hurry also. I do understand unlike a 12" single these are being pressed in masses and going all over the world as opposed to a few hundred or couple thousand singles like normal rekkids. I really wanna try these out, hoping for better resolution at slower speeds of skratching and if possible less movement from noise or thumps
Rob Alahn 4:40 AM - 22 May, 2012
don't know where you live but www.pssl.com these are 2.5 performance vinyls that are just 16 bucks a piece.

these are 10 bucks more but you get a picture disc on the cheap with the 2.5 performance grooves to boot!
